On this workshop first day, he learned six steps multi-barrier approaches for treating and storage of water for household purpose. These includes
1. protecting the water source
2. transport the water safely from source to treatment place
3. Treatment by sedimentation
4. Treatment by filtration
5. Treatment by disinfection
6. Safe the treated water from recontamination.
Moreover, he was trained how to stimulate the state holders to follow the 3C’s rule, Correctly, Consistently and Continuously use of multi-barrier approach and link to the SDG’s goal with Household water treatment and safe storage.
On the second day, the team made practical work for three treatment methods of sedimentation, filtration and disinfection by using different catalysts and materials and made comparison for effectiveness of each materials. After that, he learned the HWTS implementation and made the group for HWTS implementation according to the respective case study. The workshop was closed successfully after the group work.
