– Resource recovery from wastewater (water reuse, nutrient recovery,
energy recovery, material production)
– Polyhydroxyalkanoate (bioplastics) production from organic
wastewater using mixed microbial cultures
– Microbial fuel cells for treatment and energy recovery of wastewater
containing sulfate/sulfide
– Anaerobic treatment processes e.g. anaerobic membrane bioreactor
(AnMBR), anaerobic moving bed biofilm reactor (AnMBBR)
– Dissolution of struvite precipitated from wastewater using phosphate-
solubilizing bacteria
– Water reclamation for integrated water resource management
